Joanne Murphy of Catalyst PM is offering a special e-course free of charge to Forward Ladies with a new challenge ahead. A common area of concern is when people get promoted or start a new role/project/business. It's a difficult time, and many struggle to really hit the ground running and juggle all that they need to, to make their new venture a success. Underneath that is often a sense of feeling 'daunted' or 'overwhelmed'. Sometimes our confidence is low at such times, and yet we so need to make a good first impression we want to come across as self-assured and positive.
The e-Course is to help people hit the ground running in exactly this situation. Clients who have used the course have given glowing reports, and all have commented on how pragmatic and easy to use it is. My favourite comments was: 'Thanks for the 7 Secrets course - it was a refreshing breath of fresh air!'
The even better news is that it is offered to Forward Ladies members for free for a limited period!
All they need to do is send an email to coach@catalyst-pm.co.uk with 'Forward Ladies Offer' in the subject and Jo will forward them the E-course. Then they can breeze through the challenges ahead!
The Centre for Innovation in Health Management (CIHM), at the Leeds University Business School in conjunction with the University of Notre Dame in the USA and the Leadership Centre for Local Government, is running a leadership development programme for 60 NHS Executive Directors, many of whom are aspiring to Chief Executive roles. As part of the programme the directors undertake a real project, through an external placement, in an organisation outside the NHS in the UK or abroad. The projects are intended to add achievements to the Director's CV; develop their leadership capabilities and expose them to different ways of working. Projects in organisations or industries in the midst of significant transformation; that have short innovation to practice time; that shape and influence policy; manage risks well or that are investing heavily in staff and cultural change would be highly relevant.
Placements will last between two weeks and two months and could either be a consultancy exercise (typically 2 weeks with 2 day follow-up) or a leadership role (up to two months). The Directors will come as "a free pair of hands" to the host organisation, but some supervision, introduction and guidance for them is likely to be required.
