Speaker Information

Deirdre Bounds

Voted as one of the North's top 100 entrepreneurs, Deirdre started up a business from a bedsit and turned it into the world's biggest gap year company. She then sold it to a FTSE 100 company for an eight figure sum- and all in just 10 years!

Deirdre has no family history of enterprise, and set the whole thing up without any start-up capital. All she had was a great idea, a real belief in helping young people have amazing experiences, piles of passion and a belief that a travel business could be both ethical and profitable.

An ex-comedienne her style is informal and witty, as a business person her knowledge authentic and useful and as a best selling Author of a personal development book her messages are direct and inspirational.

Emma Sinclair

Emma is Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Target Parking. She has a background in Investment Banking having spent her formative years in M&A at NM Rothschild in the UK and USA.

Emma is the youngest person in the UK to have floated her company on the stock exchange, having done so at 29.
Moving from banking into real estate and parking specifically, Emma founded Target Parking, her second car park company, in 2008.
Emma was recently selected by The Telegraph as their twice weekly business columnist in the newly launched Wonder Women section – an elite group of inspirational women are defined by their reactive, witty and honest style.
She is also has a regular contributor to economic, real estate and parking related journals and debates.

The event will be hosted by Charlene White

Charlene White currently presents the main 6pm programme for ITV News London, and national programmes for ITV News. She also presents Weekend Breakfast for BBC Radio Five Live.
Her career began as a features writer for the New York Post in Manhattan, then she moved back to London to become a Production Journalist and reporter for ITV Meridian in Kent. She became one of the youngest Senior Broadcast Journalists at the BBC, at 24 -- working in both radio and TV.
