Yorkshire based inventor named woman of the year by Barclays Bank
A Leeds Business Woman has been named Woman of the Year by Barclays Bank. 23 year old Emily Cummins started inventing aged 15 after being inspired by her Grandfather.
She has come up with the sustainable refrigerator, ‘Global warming is a very real threat and it’s important we do our bit to sustain the planet for future generations,’ she says. ‘But people will go on using luxury items that make their lives easier so it’s up to designers to come up with products that are green, yet still fulfil people’s expectations.’
Emily is planning to take this invention to Africa where it can be used to store drugs and other small items. She is currently working on a commercial version that she hopes could, one day, rival the electrical ones.
