Trivial Pursuit game ends battle of the sexes

Trivial Pursuit game ends battle of the sexes

26/02/2010

A giant game of Trivial Pursuit has ended in women being crowned cleverer than their male counterparts.

The marathon online contest involved more than 15 million questions conducted in nine languages.

Women answered 4,088,139 questions correctly, compared to the 4,077,596 right answers given by men.

Females were strongest in the 'pink' category, which represents Entertainment, but People & Places proved more of a challenge - with just 41.7 per cent of questions answered correctly.

The best category for the men was Science & Nature where they achieved 57 per cent accuracy.

"The online Trivial Pursuit Battle of the Sexes experiment invited people worldwide to compete for the ultimate bragging rights - to be a member of the smartest team," said Trivial Pursuit spokeswoman Katreena Lines.

The next battle planned is between the generations – the under 30s and the over the 30s – and will begin in mid-March 2010.
