Women Cheating on New Year Diets

Women Cheating on New Year Diets

06/01/2010

A survey has suggested that one in three women who claim to be on a New Year's diet are in fact secretly scoffing unhealthy foods.

Figures from LighterLife, which conducted the survey, show that 36 per cent of women who say they are trying to fight the flab are in fact hiding food or eating it in the dark.

The survey revealed that handbags, clothes drawers and under the bedwere among the most popular places to hide snacks.

Alarmingly, the report showed some women secretly eat while in the car or even on the sun bed to avoid admitting they are struggling with their diet plan.

A spokesperson for LighterLife, which carried out the study, said: "The problem is growing - along with the population.

"We found four in ten have faced temptation witnessing their husband eat something delicious in front of them and a quarter have been invited out to a swanky restaurant for dinner.

"But if you do want your partner to lose weight, keep a close eye on them around 11am and 3pm, which emerged as the peak secret-snacking time."

It was found that the average diet lasts 15 weeks.
