I migrated in my mid-20s to the United Kingdom from Zimbabwe 23 years ago. I studied nursing and have dedicated almost two decades to the public and private healthcare sectors. Having always known that I wanted to practice at the highest level of my nursing license and become a senior manager and leader, I began pursuing my own development and opportunities to lead me into the senior management and leadership team within NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups. With my experience working in senior teams with very little diversity and the professional loneliness that comes with it, I cultivated a profound passion for nurturing other diverse talent in healthcare to ensure that more nurses who looked like me could achieve their career ambitions.
My journey with Limitless Nurses began as a response to this mission to create equitable access to opportunities for diverse healthcare professionals to achieve professional success. Putting the tools and resources into the hands of diverse talent. My experiences have allowed me to shape Limitless Nurses as a platform that empowers healthcare professionals to thrive, grow their leadership potential and advance their careers.

A significant challenge I faced was working with a senior executive who would consistently cut me off whenever it was my turn to speak at meetings. This behaviour triggered my imposter syndrome.
This situation created a sense of self-doubt, and it was an uphill task to understand the underlying reasons behind her actions and what they meant for my professional development. Through introspection, empathy, and careful analysis of her behaviour, I could make sense of her actions without blaming myself.
This process made me more self-assured and determined, transforming a potentially debilitating experience into an empowering lesson. This personal growth has shaped my approach to Limitless Nurses by reinforcing the importance of self-awareness, resilience, and the ability to navigate complex interpersonal dynamics. It has also accentuated the necessity of supporting diverse healthcare professionals who may face similar challenges, thus influencing our programmes that address personal and professional growth.
By turning this personal challenge into a learning experience, I've infused Limitless Nurses with a compassionate and realistic perspective, allowing it to become a source of empowerment and support for other diverse talents navigating their unique challenges in the healthcare profession.
Four years on, I can say that this journey has offered me invaluable lessons. In no particular order, here are a few things I've learned:
- There's immense power in the learning phases of any endeavour.
- Deeply listening to the stakeholders of your business can bring about transformation.
- Time is ample, provided we bravely prioritise what truly matters.
- Procrastination is the offspring of fear. Ask yourself, "What am I afraid of?"
- Thinking, acting, and learning is better than regretting.
- Energy is a resource to budget wisely.
- Choosing a mission and business name that excites you makes all the difference.

Looking back at the beginning of my journey as an early career nurse, I wish I had known the importance of starting with the end in mind. I would not have stayed in my first role as long as I did. I now share this strategy with early career members at Limitless Nurses. This principle is not just a concept; it's a vital strategy that gives focus and direction. Keeping the end goal in sight ensures that you don't stay stuck in one place; instead, you continually move towards realising your vision, adapting, and growing along the way. The clarity that comes from having a well-defined goal can guide decisions, align efforts, and motivate relentless pursuit, even in the face of challenges.
For those aspiring or just starting in the healthcare leadership field, I would advise adopting this mindset from the beginning: Define your end goal, articulate what success looks like, and let it be the compass that guides your path. This approach has not only shaped my journey into senior nurse management and with starting Limitless Nurses, but it can also be a foundational principle for anyone aspiring to make a positive impact in healthcare or any other professional endeavour at the highest level.
Apart from continuing to grow Limitless Nurses into the preferred partner for health and care organisations to support workforce retention and career advancement for diverse talent, my next move includes a continued role as Project Director for "the African Well Woman Project." This community health and wellbeing project aims to support the health and wellbeing of women of African descent living in the diaspora. We offer health and wellbeing coaching sessions to women aged 18 and above working on short or long-term health and wellbeing goals. As part of our initiative, we have also published "The African Well Woman Cook Book" in collaboration with the multi-award-winning former BBC MasterChef Quarter Finalist (2016) and Nutritionist Nomalanga Senda (Noma Creates). This cookbook, available on Amazon, Waterstones, and Barnes and Noble, exemplifies our commitment to addressing critical healthcare issues and disparities that disproportionately affect women, further solidifying the connection between nutrition, health, and overall wellbeing in our community.

As the founder of Limitless Nurses Membership, she is deeply passionate about creating equitable access to opportunities for diverse healthcare professionals and small business leaders to achieve professional success. With a background in healthcare, Beaulah is a registered nurse and has risen through the ranks into the senior management and leadership team (SMT).
Her journey to success was shaped on her own terms as a healthcare professional, driven by a desire to improve the quality and performance of healthcare services through inclusive leadership and management strategies. One of her key missions is to support healthcare professionals and organisations in nurturing their diverse talent pipeline. Having dedicated over 19 years to public and private healthcare sectors, Beaulah has operational and strategic experience across various healthcare services. Her expertise spans adult and children’s learning disabilities, mental health, safeguarding children, looked after children and adults, special educational needs and disabilities, and continuing care for children and young adults.
Education has been at the core of Beaulah’s journey. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Birmingham.
